Nora Fatehi Reacts to ‘Sarke Chunar’ Controversy, Says AI Image Used Without Permission

Bollywood actor and dancer Nora Fatehi has finally spoken about the controversy surrounding the song Sarke Chunar from the upcoming film KD: The Devil. The Hindi version of the track created huge backlash online due to its bold lyrics, and now Nora has clarified that she was not aware of the final version released by the makers.

The actress shared a video on Instagram explaining her side and accusing the film’s team of using her visuals without proper approval.

Song Faced Backlash After Release on Social Media

The controversy started when the Hindi version of Sarke Chunar, featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, was released online. Soon after, social media users criticised the song for its sexually suggestive lyrics, and the video went viral for the wrong reasons.

Due to heavy criticism, the track was later removed from YouTube, but by that time it had already spread widely across social platforms. The film is directed by Prem and stars Dhruva Sarja in the lead role. The movie is scheduled to release on 30 April 2026 in multiple languages.

Nora Says She Shot Only Kannada Version

In her video message, Nora Fatehi revealed that she had filmed the song nearly three years ago in Kannada and had agreed to do it because the project was big and also featured Sanjay Dutt.

She said that the version explained to her at that time did not have any objectionable content, and she trusted the translations given on set. According to her, she was never informed that a Hindi version with different lyrics would be created later.

Claims AI-Generated Image Used Without Consent

Nora also raised serious concerns about the use of her image in promotional material. She claimed that the makers used an AI-generated picture of her with Sanjay Dutt in a lyrical video without asking for permission.

She said she noticed the issue during an event and immediately warned the director that the song could face backlash. After that, she decided to distance herself from the project and avoided promoting the track.

In her post, Nora asked fans not to share the song further, saying that more views only increase its reach and create more misunderstanding.

Actress Talks About Lack of Control Artists Sometimes Face

While addressing the situation, Nora Fatehi said that artists sometimes have limited control over how their work is finally presented. She added that most of her experiences in the Hindi film industry have been positive, but there have also been moments where her opinion was not considered.

She concluded by saying that she and her team will be more careful in future projects and thanked the public reaction, as the backlash helped bring attention to the issue.

Film Still Set for Release Amid Controversy

KD: The Devil, produced by KVN Productions, also stars Shilpa Shetty, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Reeshma Nanaiah, and Jisshu Sengupta.

Despite the controversy, the film is moving ahead with its release, but the debate around the song has already put the project under strong public scrutiny. The source of this news is bollywoodhungama.com
